"ANGEL RIDERS"

Intro [narrator talking]
Howdy, kids! How'd you all like to hear an amazing true tale from the old Wild West!
Well, it goes like this…

Verse 1
Now Zachariah was a preacher man
Who did just what he could
To teach folks to love the dear Lord Jesus
And try 'n' help 'em learn to be good.

Verse 2
But on the same plain of the old Wild West
There was a mean, old bandit gang.
Paco was the leader's name, cattle stealing was his game.
And he said, "Hey, Zach, me gun is gonna go bang

Verse 3
If you try to build that church in this town."
Zach said, "I fear the Lord, not you, & I won't back down."
Paco said, "You'd better watch where you go at night,"
But Zach knew with God on his side, he'd be all right.

[Spoken:]
"Yes, siree, I'm just gonna keep right on buildin' this church,
And trust the good Lord to protect and keep me."
"Hey, I'm gonna get that preacher man one day,
You just wait 'n' see,
'Cause I'm Paco-nobody gets away from me, ha, ha!"

Verse 4
Days went by, preacher Zach kept buildin'
Like he knew Jesus wanted him to,
But one evening, a rider from the lumber camp rode up and said,
"Zach, a man's been hurt & he's askin' for you."

Verse 5
The preacher saddled his horse, took his Bible in hand.
Though the sky was getting dark
He rode across the rugged land;
Got a little worried when he heard a coyote bark.

Verse 6
Well, Paco was up in the rocks a-hiding, a shotgun in hand,
And he said to himself, "Tonight I'm gonna shoot me down that preacher man."
Though Zach felt a little scared, he knew just what to do-
He climbed down from his horse to pray & claimed some verses, too.

Verse 7
Then back up in the saddle & off to the lumber camp,
The preacher made it safely to pray for the wounded man.
The very next morning, Paco, he lay wounded, too,
He said, "Hey, Zach, who were those men with you?"

Verse 8
Now preacher Zachariah was thinkin' that he rode
All alone the night before,
But Paco had seen horsemen that glowed
On each side with flaming swords.

Verse 9
So if you're ever outside at nighttime
And feel a little fright,
Just ask the Lord for some angel riders
To guard you through the night.

And He'll send you your own angel riders
To guard you through the night!

Angel riders!
